I am a passionate technologist with a great deal of experience in the areas of web application architecture, web application frameworks, Ruby and Rails development, and Java/J2EE architecture, design, and development. I am a passionate advocate and believer in Agile methodologies, and have used eXtreme Programming (XP), and Scrum on projects.

Other passions of mine include collaboration, knowledge sharing, Web 2.0 technologies, the use of Web 2.0 technologies in the enterprise, and the marriage of technology and education, . I hold both technical and education degrees, in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a Masters of Education with a specialty in Instructional Design for Online Learning.

I currently work as a Technical Architect for Compuware in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to the work that I do for Compuware, I am also a published technical author. In 2006, I had the Java Phrasebook published by Pearson. I am currently working on the Ruby on Rails Bible which will be published by Wiley in early Spring, 2008.
